One man was killed and a second injured in a shooting early Monday in Evanston, police said.
Two men who were responsible for the shooting were seen riding away on bicycles after the incident, police said.
According to a news release from the Evanston Police Department, shots were fired about 1:20 a.m. near the 1800 block of Dodge Avenue. Responding officers found two men shot near the sidewalk just north of Lyons Street.
We cyclists love to point the finger of blame at automobiles. We call them ‘Murder Machines‘. Well not only are bicycles the agents of death all by themselves, having mowed down any number of pedestrians ‘while in the crosswalk‘, we are branching out.
We began with some simple ‘bike by shootings‘. But now that we have mastered the aim, squeeze and shoot while steering the bike with one hand, we have graduated to being as badass as any motorist.
