If you’ve never experienced cyclocross – specifically, the Chicago Cross Cup – a kind of cross country death race on bicycles, it’s an event not to be missed.

The 2013 Montrose Harbor leg jumped off with plenty of snow and wind to challenge the field. But one man didn’t even notice the elements – he was too busy battling his Divvy Bike.

In a sport that is celebrated for eccentricities – it’s filled with exuberant fans, crazy dedicated riders and all manner of horrific weather that both groups revel their way through – this might be one of the the more unusual sights seen, not to mention one of the more adventurous uses for a Divvy since rides on Lake Shore Drive became a thing.

Here’s a look at the as-yet unidentified rider, who’s only statement about his effort was, “I’m so tired, this thing is so heavy.”

UPDATE: It was Frederick Wu, of the SpiderMoneky team, riding that Divvy. Here’s his stat line from the men’s Cat 4/5 Open race –
