It is has far too long since we rode the “String of Pearls” Ride through the DuPage County Forest Preserve. The preserves included are:
You can view just about everything DuPage Country has to offer in this set of preserves that are connected by trails. We found that the grading of the climbs has been altered to make them easier to negotiate and no doubt to halt further erosion during the rainy season. The flora and fauna in these preserves is really outstanding. We spotted any number of folks taking photographs of the flowers.
One fellow was sitting down in what I hoped was not a bed of poison ivy or something worse. Nevertheless he was busy making closeups of the flora on the forest floor and enjoying the spring temperatures.
By the time we had ridden the first half of the route we decided it was late enough that we would save the rest for another weekend.
