Warrenville police are looking for witnesses after a bicyclist was injured in a crash with a semi-truck early Friday morning.

The semi-truck was going south on Route 59, at Continental, when it was struck by an adult male bicyclist, according to the Warrenville Police Department.

The bicyclist suffered major injuries and was taken to Cadence Hospital in Winfield.

No further information on the driver or bicyclist was released.

Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call the Warrenville Police Department at 630-393-2131.

Warrenville cyclist who struck semi dies

A 30-year old Warrenville man died Saturday at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, one day after his bicycle hit a semi-truck near the intersection of Illinois Route 59 and Continental Drive just after midnight on May 10, police said.

According to police, the man was riding his bicycle across Route 59 when he struck a southbound semi-truck. The accident remains under investigation.

Police are asking for the public’s assistance. Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call Warrenville Police at 630-393-2131.
