I find the thing that most influences my travel time (bike or car) is which red lights I get. Certain signals at major arterial roads can add 2 minutes to my trip. OTOH, I’ve rarely had a motorist have to wait more than 30 seconds to pass me. That’s not 30 seconds of delay, because they are not stopped. That’s 30 seconds driving a little bit slower (sometimes only a few mph slower) than the speed limit. Even then, I often see them ahead of me at the next red light and the one after that (along with traffic that was already in front of us).
