NOW OPEN—53rd Street Metra bike share station!
As part of its sustainability commitment, the University is seeking to reduce single-occupancy vehicle use and encourage cycling across campus and around town. Campus bike programs have multiple benefits including building community, decreasing waste and pollution, encouraging healthy life-long habits, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The recycles Resource (PDF) provides additional information about the bike share program, its creation and ongoing management.
Last spring, recycles added a tandem bicycle to its fleet, which is located at Regenstein. A student initiative led by 2 avid recycles users, UChicago Tandem project received funding from the Uncommon Fund.
