Police ticket Boise cyclist, 49, saying he rode through traffic light before hitting car
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Police say a 49-year-old cyclist in Boise was ticketed for riding through red traffic light and hitting a car.
The Idaho Statesman reports (http://bit.ly/SFnxli) Michael Porter was cited for failure to obey a traffic light early Tuesday. That was after witnesses told police they saw Porter ride through an intersection, even though the light was red, and then hit a car that was making a left turn.
According to authorities, Porter suffered minor injuries from the crash but refused medical treatment at the scene.
The ticket for failing to obey a traffic light is punishable by a $72 fine.
