Deerfield Bakery Sculpture

Summary

Deerfield Bakery Sculpture

Deerfield’s Bakery is an often visited destination by the Elmhurst Bicycle Club when riding northward. They have great coffee and of course baked goods. A few doors north is the Lou Malnatti’s Pizzeria and across the street is a strip mall which has among other things a very nice Veteran’s Memorial and an interesting modern sculpture.

You can drop into the bakery and then dine on the fine pastries right there or hop back on your bike with your coffee and pastry securely stowed in your handlebar bag (assuming here that you have a sealable Thermos™ bottle) and cross over to the Veteran’s Memorial on the corner and then head a bit south to the sculpture.

There is even a sculpture garden a few miles to the east which warrants a visit. Later this year I plan to revisit the garden and capture as many of the sculptures as are attainable via bicycle.
